Hey There

Are you up for a challenge?

Are you excited by the prospect of changing Montana's food systems to end hunger for good?

Then the MT-PECH Board of Directors is looking for you!

Information for Potential Applicants to

The MT-PECH Board of Directors

What Does MT-PECH Do?

MT-PECH envisions healthy, strong communities where everyone has access to sustainable, affordable, locally produced, nutrient-dense food. To reach that goal, MT-PECH raises and distributes funds to organizations across the state to pursue and promote food-systems changes that lead to nutritional security for kids and families living in Montana.

MT-PECH fosters collaborations and partnerships across all sectors of Montana's food system and funds programs that build awareness, address root causes of hunger, and maximize community-based resources to increase access to culturally relevant, nutrient-rich food. MT-PECH’s work includes improving policies to create and support nutritionally secure communities.

MT-PECH’s food-system partners include school and summer-meal programs, Indigenous food sovereignty programs, growers and producers, agricultural organizations, and healthcare partners, along with many other state and local food programs.

What Do MT-PECH Board Members Do?

Being a Member of the Board of Directors or an Officer of the Board of Directors is a job of visionary guidance, strategic planning, financial oversight, insight into childhood hunger and poverty, and fundraising. The Board of Directors sets policy, maintains, and amends MT-PECH’s Bylaws as needed, and makes plans to ensure MT-PECH is on the road to achieving its goals.

Most importantly, Members of the Board of Directors and Board Officers make sure MT-PECH has the funding needed to accomplish its goals. The Board meets quarterly, and occasionally there are other meetings in between the quarterly gatherings.

An individual may be a Member of the Board of Directors without being a Board Officer.
