3rd Governor's Summit on Local Food & Agriculture

We're excited to share the official communication announcing the 3rd Governor's Summit on Local Food & Agriculture being hosted in Helena, Montana from October 23-24 2026! The summit is designed to build better, more efficient, economical food systems for Montana eaters, Montana ranchers and farmers, and Montana kids. We support the Summit and this work because we know eating more Montana food means better health for Montanans and their kids.

MT-PECH has been involved in the planning and execution of this important gathering in a number of ways. MT-PECH representatives (both of our Co-Executive Directors!) sit on the Summit Leadership Committee and Outreach Committee. We're also supporting the Regional information-gathering meetings for the summit and really want to recruit people to come to participate and share your perspectives on making the Montana food system better and healthier for Montanans, Montana kids and institutional markets like Montana schools. If this is of interest, please visit the website with dates and times of Regional information-gathering meetings to sign up.

We're a part of a school food system transformation team that's sponsoring a lunch at the summit that highlights Montana beef and Montana rye, two products we're currently helping move into Montana Schools. Being a part of the summit adds to our efforts to build circular Montana food economies in central and eastern Montana, which means more fresh quality food for Montana schools and Montana kids.

We hope to see you there! Registration will open this spring. Stay tuned!
